Babbel – Learn Spanish App Reviews

Enjoyable but....

1. Difficult to use on iPad mini as keyboard pops up and covers the question. 2. Wish there was an option for So American Spanish only (no vosotros etc). I ever get to Spain Ill deal with it. 3. Font - you need to pay attention - i and l look same, for example. 4. Would like to skip ahead or go back in a lesson. If there is a way to I dont know what it is.

Very poor course

Required to pay too early. No illustrations strictly text. My printed courses much better.

I need Latin American Spanish

This seems to be the European Spanish. Do you have Latin America?

AMAZING!

How come not many people know this amazing app? The lessons are so simple and efficient. The grammar lessons wont also leave you with a what? how why tho like many Spanish lessons, apps did. Worth every money we paid for. Great job, Babbel! Looking forward to seeing better improvements :3

Horrible!!!!

Besides being a cheap knockoff of Rosetta Stone they charged my apple account for a full unlock. But what is worse is they never even unlocked my account, so unless I checked my bank I would have never known. In the process now of finally getting my money back. So not worth the trouble do not download this app!!!

They got it all wrong

Almost impossible to stop subscription. Complicated to use, but super easy in trial. Ripp off

Excellent!

This is exactly what I needed!!! This app is great. Its given me the ability to take my Spanish speaking to the next level. Absolutely love it!!!

Babbel Spanish

I like the app. It has helped me improve my Spanish. There is a minor annoyance that I would like to see changed. When masculine and feminine versions of a word are given, the user is then asked to choose which of the English words in boxes matches the Spanish word at the bottom. Both English words are the same and it is a pure guessing game to match the Spanish word. e.g. two boxes say "waiter" but you have to choose which matches "mesera." An easy fix would be to put (f) or (m) after the English word.

Re reviews

Once I have done the translation correct how do I prevent it from coming up again? Also, I am not interested in some of the phrases, how do I eliminate them?

Awesome app

Awesome app works perfectly and Im learning so much !!!

Great Content

There is so much content available through the app. Perfect for people who have had a little to intermediate exposure to Spanish. I would have liked if there was an option to pick Latin American versus Spain-Spainish. It would be nice to have exposure to various accents of Latin America.

This is a valuable tool for learning another language.

I have been fooling around with Spanish for a while. Then I found Babel and started playing with it. When I realized I was actually picking up Spanish, I decided to really get into it, and am moving right along. It helps make learning a new language possible for everyone.

Pretty good

I am learning Spanish in Mexico so I wish this app catered to that, but its workable. Still the best app Ive used for languages so far and the payment options are flexible which I like. I use my ipad for the lessons and do review lessons only on my phone which keeps my data storage balanced.

Hmmm...

I had high hopes and expectations. I live in Central America and Ive been trying to learn Spanish for over a year. Doulingo was ok to a point but I was ready for something more instructive. This isnt it, either. How can you be expected to "complete the sentence with the correct word" when you havent been given the word forms yet? Guessing is not that interesting. If youre looking for another lightweight game tutor this would be ok.

Why I like BABBLE better than FLUENCIA

I am taking FLUENCIA & also Babble. FLUENCIA is good, very detailed and lots of lessons. However they have too many long sentences which take up too much of the students time. It is just too saturated with too many extra words which the student always has to look up. Babbles approach is better because you answer the questions, get good repetition and everything is much quicker. You dont spend inordinate amounts of time on an overflow of words in sentences. I like Babble very much. I am only on lesson 22 of the Beginner lessons. I have long way to go but I like it a lot so far.

Awesome tool for conversational Spanish

I have tried a few methods to learn Spanish and I really like this. They incorporate pictures, repetitions, listening and speaking. I highly recommend it.

Useful if dedicated and forgiving of its flaws.

I would recommend this app as it is well rounded tool for language learning, however it does have its caveats. The good comes from its unique interactive dialogues, diverse range of exercises, and steady progression of courses. The bad is due in part to its dumb review manager which repeatedly shows phrases already known. It has slow transitions and crashes after extended usage. Even so, I would still recommend it if your dedicated and can overlook the downsides. I pay the monthly plan and will keep doing so on the condition that future updates address the issues mentioned above.

Fantastic

Tried the demo and was offered 3 free months with the purchase of three months. Only a few days into the courses and am already improving. Easy to use. I love how you get to say the words, match, and type to help better absorb the vocabulary. I recommend keeping a notebook to jot down some of the rules. Overall, very pleased with my purchase.

Happy chappy

Im so impressed with this app! Im Australian and figured now that Im living in the USA it would be an invaluable skill to learn Spanish. Hadnt really ever heard Spanish so Im a beginner beginner but within a few days or hours even I was able to easily grasp some some of the basics. This app is fun! AND educational! I have tried other language cds and books and school classes and I havent grasped nearly as quick as what I have with this ap.

BOOOO!

NOT REALLY FREE! Once you get to level 2, it charges you!!!!!
